Weekly Classes

As a student in our hands-on weekly classes, you will gain more and more experience in pulse-taking as the weeks unfold. Week by week, you’ll gain greater familiarity with aspects of the pulse that previously baffled you. Through small class instruction, you’ll get to ask in-the-moment questions, and benefit from ample one-on-one attention from our teachers. As Dr Hammer said, “we learn through repetition”: that is, when we regularly and faithfully return to the pulse, its subtleties inevitably reveal themselves to us.

Course objectives vary by class because we tailor our weekly classes’ curriculum to the students in attendance. As an example of a weekly class curriculum, the recent course objectives for a beginner class included the following:

  • Calibrating you to the three primary pulse depths

  • Orienting you to the large segments of the pulse

  • Showing you how to palpate the primary positions

  • Teaching you how to identify basic pulse qualities and waveforms

  • Helping you to work with volunteer patient and walking you through the subsequent interpretation of their pulse records

Course Prerequisites

Our Weekly Classes have no prerequisites and are appropriate for practitioner-folk with any and all levels of previous pulse diagnosis experience. Our Weekly Classes are for you if you want an ongoing opportunity to begin gaining or continually deepen your pulse diagnosis skills.
